If you haven’t seen the latest issue of Country Living, you are missing out. As I stated on my facebook page, it’s chock full of thrifty inspiration…including this beach home, which I’m so excited to be sharing with you all today.
I heart the simplicity and textures of this room…and the roman shades were a bargain find ($6!!!) from Ikea. Note: The CL website makes mention that these particular shades have been discontinued, but give an alternative from JCPenney here.
LOVE the idea of framing maps for home decor (and I’m not the only one, Kimba did a post here on the topic, and Nester gave her take here). Other thrifty alternatives? Wallpaper samples, scrapbook paper, or….
See that framed print above the toaster? That’s a paper grocery bag. Seriously, genius.
Pretty dishtowels held in a basket from TJ Maxx are appealing and functional.
Vintage magazine ads (bought from eBay) adorn the bathroom walls.
Botanical prints can be found very inexpensively (old books, eBay, and the internet are good sources) and make an impact when grouped. Both the pendant lamp and painting are thrift store finds (though inexpensive art can be found everywhere, including this site where you can get limited edition art for $20).
Anybody else as wowed by this home (and the entire issue) as I was?

I’m wowed looking at the photos you posted. I haven’t seen the issue yet. This makes me want to run and out and buy it. Fabulous!
um I am in love with that foam green toaster – I WANT!!
BEAUTIFUL!!!
