ombre doily hoop (a tutorial)

Confession Time. I really like embroidery hoop art. The proof is here on my hoop art Pinterest board.

I loved the simplicity of it, and wanted to create something similiar for my kitchen.

My two requirements? I wanted it to be blue, and I wanted to have an ombre effect instead of being a single color.

This was so simple to do. The doily, by the way, was in a dollar bin at Michaels (I, needless to say, bought multiples:))

Just dye your fabric according to the package instructions (to achieve the ombre effect, just hold sections of your doily in the dye longer than others-no need to be exact-it’s a very forgiving process)!

After inserting into the hoop, you can cut off the excess fabric around the hoop’s sides…I left mine for the time being.

Wouldn’t a wall of these be gorgeous??

What a wonderful idea. I love how simple the project was and how the color options are endless. Thanks for sharing. Yet another DIY to add to my list.
