oh what a gallon of paint can do

Well, I did it!
My kitchen has made the transformation from I-love-the-color-but-I’m-ready-for-a-change green….

…to let-in-the-light-and-make-the-room-feel-larger white….

I always hesitate to show you all “finished” photos of my home, because, let’s face it, it’s never finished. Next up on my list for this room? I’d love to find some metal garden chairs (and paint them a fun color) to replace the two well-loved ones currently there (from Ikea). And maybe add some more color with plates or artwork. Oh, and replace the countertops down the road.

See? It’s a sickness, really it is.

Anyway, I am adoring the white…it really does make the room seem both larger and brighter, both huge pluses in my book. I used this Sherwin-Williams Pro-Classic paint:

It took several weeks to complete, as we worked slowly so that the kitchen would still be usable. The great thing about this paint is that it’s low odor and waterbased (so brushes could be washed out with water), yet, when dry, has the durability of an oil-based product.

Overall, I’m so very happy with the results!

looks beautiful! Green is my absolute favorite color but there is something irresistible about a white kitchen. So bright and clean!
