felt flower pillow (a tutorial and a giveaway}

Hello there! I have a fun tutorial today for all you felt lovers…and a giveaway at the end of the post! If you love pillows and you love Target, you’re in for a treat!

First up….

My favorite thing about this pillow? The color combinations are endless! I debated endlessly about what color felt to use (gray? white?), but decided on the red for a bit of a festive look.

Materials:
felt (I used 7 8″x10″ pieces of felt for this…I could have easily used more, though)
scissors
pillow
hot glue

Step 1: Cut strips lengthwise from felt, approx. 1.5″ long.

Step 2: Take your strips, and cut slits along each length. I was able to cut through two at a time to save a bit of time.  My tip? Watch a good movie while you are doing this-it doesn’t take that long, but it is a bit boring.

Step 3: Take one of your strips, and start rolling it up. Every few inches, use a drop of hot glue to help secure it.

Once you finish one piece, add another, attaching it with a bit of hot glue. After a few strips, you’ll have something that’ll look like this:

Keep going….and going, and going. When all your strips are together, you’ll have this:

Now, either stitch or hot glue it to your pillow form.

I already had a pillow lying around that I wasn’t using, so lots of hot glue was my method of choice (no surprise there).

Ta-da! I really love this pillow, and can think of so many variations that I’d love to try.

And now for the giveaway!!

Ok, I have a problem, y’all. I have waaay too many pillows lying around. So, I want to lighten my load by giving one away!

The winner can choose either the felt flower pillow above, or my shabby flower pillow. Both are in good condition and really could use a loving home:)

Plus, I’m giving away one of these….
