20 valentine’s day crafts and tutorials

valentines day crafts

I’ll admit-for a crafts-related blogger, I don’t tend to decorate for a lot of the holidays. My mantle, for instance, hasn’t changed since Christmas, and I’m okay with that. So when I do decorate, I like creative and simple crafts that don’t take a lot of time. And if we’re talking Valentine’s Day crafts, I don’t want anything overly cutesy or over-the-top that won’t fit in with my everyday décor (unless my kids are involved, then I’ll welcome it all into my home, cutesy and over-the-top included). So today, I’m sharing 20 creative V-Day crafts with a modern edge that you’ll love to add to your holiday décor! Enjoy!

30 creative ways to use essential oils

essential oils
Essential oils–they’re the new must-haves for all things health and wellness, and they’re currently going through a major surge in popularity. I’ve been using them myself for about 6 months now, for everything from aromatherapy to help with sleeping to keeping the kids healthy to clearer skin to flavoring my water.

And, today, I’m sharing even more ways to use them! Today’s post, 30 creative and crafty ways to use essential oils, is the perfect way to merge a love of crafting with an interest in you and your family’s health. There’s just so many reasons to hop on the essential oil bandwagon! I currently am using doTERRA oils, and I’d be more than happy answer any questions you have. I had a LOT of questions starting out (and still do), but I’ve gotten a pretty good grasp on what the oils are and how to best use them, so if you’re on the fence about starting an essential oil regimen, feel free to contact me! Now, onto the crafts…

favorite posts of 2014

It’s time for my annual roundup of favorite posts from the last year! I love this tradition of sharing favorite posts from the previous year; you can see my 2013 picks in this post, and my favorite posts from 2011 & 2012 here. Let’s get started!

office chair

This office chair update is one of my favorite DIY’s to date. I still use it and love it every single day.

Some of your favorite posts from the past year were round-up posts, and this round-up of 50 favorite DIY wall art ideas was the clear reader winner!

Everything’s better with a bit of chalkboard paint, and, paired with a bright yellow, this chalkboard coffee table was so fun to create (and create on)!

Glam gold foil and bright colored paint came together to give these mod podged planters new life.

Duct tape is some amazing stuff, and this geometric duct tape wreath is still hanging proudly in my foyer.

This teacher survival kit, cleverly packaged in an empty paint container, is a sweet and thoughtful gift for your child’s teacher.

Lastly, these personalized photo ornaments were not only your favorite, but mine, too!
