fall around my home

Hello, friends! It’s beginning to feel a lot like Fall around here, and I couldn’t be happier. We even had our first fire in the fireplace earlier this week, complete with a fireside picnic and smores, of course. We love smores in this house, and watching a three year old eating a sticky, oozing, gooey smore is priceless. Seriously cute.

Speaking of smores…

The above photo is not mine, but wow, doesn’t that look delicious? Yum.

My home decor has jumped on the Autumnal bandwagon as well, and I wanted to share a few pics with you all. Hope you find something that inspires you!

We all have those thrifted pillar holders hanging around our homes, right? I had a couple of them that I wasn’t using and covered them with a couple of knitted coffee cozies (created by my sister-in-law’s talented bestie) that were also lying around. It was a perfect fit, and they are the perfect complement to my Fall decor, if I do say so myself.

I love the versatility of this chalkboard. I erased my Summer bucket list and put up a simple and sweet scalloped garland.

The Nester talks a lot about adding meaningful beauty to our homes. My three year old had a blast painting these mini pumpkins we found at Kroger one day last week. Meaningful? Absolutely. Beautiful? You betcha. Check and check.

Ditto for the above. My husband took my son gem mining the other weekend while we were in Asheville, NC. Whenever we look at this, we’ll think about not only our family vacation, but the fun adventures Daddy and son went on during that trip.

Lastly, a bit more coffee cozy ‘n pumpkin love for you. I love this simple display.

How are you incorporating Fall beauty into your home?

kids canvas teepee and campfire pillow

Last week, while I was wandering around taking random photographs of my home (you do that too, right?), I realized there was a special corner that I hadn’t shared with you all….

These teepees seem to be all the rage right now, and for good reason. They don’t take up much space (and can fold up and fit under the bed, if needed), are durable, and, most importantly, are FUN for little ones.  There are tutorials everywhere for how to make these-here’s several from babble to check out!

And what little kid doesn’t need a campfire to round out his camping experience? Here’s the tutorial via woolly petals if you want one of your own.

Oh, and, btw, I can take credit for neither of these. Both were created by my uber-talented mother-in-law…she doesn’t have a blog to link too, unfortunately, but just know she’s seriously gifted in the creativity department (as you can plainly see).
