Popsicle sticks are such a versatile and fun craft supply! I’m sharing a bunch of easy popsicle stick craft ideas for you and your kids to try today!
I love easy crafts for kids. They’re the perfect way to cultivate creativity and have fun in the process.
Popsicle stick crafts are some of my favorite crafts for kids because they are usually inexpensive, easy to make, and perfect for kids of various ages.
So, today, I’m sharing the best popsicle stick craft ideas from some favorite DIY and craft bloggers!
First, let’s answer some questions about crafting with popsicle sticks.
Where to Buy Popsicle Sticks
Craft stores are the perfect place to buy popsicle sticks.
Places like Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Joann’s and more usually have a good selection of popsicle sticks.
I often buy popsicle sticks online, too, just to save myself an errand. You can find large colored popsicle sticks, regular sized colored popsicle sticks and plain popsicle sticks at a great price!
What Is the Best Glue for Popsicle Sticks
You can use several types of glue for popsicle sticks.
If adults are going to be creating the popsicle stick crafts, then I would recommend a hot glue gun. Hot glue dries super fast, and very hard.
If these crafts will be done by kids, though, you’ll want a glue that is safe for kids.
Regular school glue (I prefer clear), is a good choice. School glue takes a while to dry, though, so you’ll have to make sure you don’t move your craft around a lot while it is drying.
What Wood are Popsicle Sticks Made of?
From several sources, I have learned that popsicle sticks are made out of white birch.
White birch is virtually odor-free, tasteless, and approved for food contact by the FDA.
