Is Shopping a Hobby?
Are you surprised to see shopping on the list? Many are, but I do think shopping can be considered a hobby!
If hobbies are things you enjoy doing, then shopping can be included on that list for many people. If you’re shopping intentionally and mindfully, and within your budget, I can definitely see how the argument can be made that shopping IS a hobby!
I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments if you agree or disagree!
Hobbies to Pick Up in Your 20s
Part of the reason people start hobbies is to become more well rounded and to have something compelling to add to their resumes.
20 year-olds are often at the point in their lives of wanting to pick up a hobby for these, and other, reasons.
All of the art and creative hobbies mentioned above are perfect for starting in your teens, 20s, 30s and beyond. Computer hobbies are another category of hobbies to consider if you’re in your 20s.
When choosing a hobby, consider these factors:
- How much time do I have to devote to this hobby? Some hobbies can be started with very little spare time, others need more of a time investment to be successful.
- Do I want a social hobby, or something more independent? If a goal is to meet new people through your hobby, consider hobbies where you’ll be learning and working with others.
- How much money do I have to invest in this hobby? Lots of hobbies are available that don’t need a lot of money to start and maintain. Other hobbies may need a larger investment.
