These Grinch-inspired Rice Krispie Treats use store-bought treats to create an easy and tasty dessert idea perfect for the holiday season.
We’ll go through the supplies needed to make these yummy treats, and then walk through the recipe step by step. Let’s get started…
Grinch Rice Krispie Treat Supplies
Full recipe and recipe card is at the bottom of this post, but here are the supplies and ingredients that you will need:
- green candy melts
- heart sprinkles
- red paper straws
- Rice Krispie Treats
- wax paper
- cooking spray or vegetable oil (to help thin candy melts to desired consistency)
Grinch Treats Directions
The instructions for these couldn’t be easier!
You will first unwrap your treats, and then stick a straw into the bottom of each one.
Melt your candy melts, using the oil or spray to thin the mixture, and dip each treat into your candy melts and submerge about 2/3 of the way.
Place on parchment, add a heart sprinkle and let harden.
If you plan on gifting these, simply place them into a cellophane bag and tie with a ribbon. Such a super cute and simple gift idea!

Christmas Grinch Rice Krispie Treats
Looking for an easy Christmas treat inspired by How the Grinch Stole Christmas? These adorable Grinch Rice Krispie Treats are the perfect treat for Christmas dessert boards and classroom treats!
Ingredients
- Box of Rice Krispie Treats
- Package Green Candy Melts
- Heart Sprinkles
- Wax Paper
- Cooking Spray (or vegetable oil)
- Red Paper Straws
Instructions
Unwrap your Rice Krispie treats.
Stick a paper straw into each Rice Krispie treat.
Spray a microwave safe bowl or container with cooking spray and pour in the candy melts.
Microwave for 30 seconds. Remove from microwave, stir. Spray with a little more cooking spray and place back into the microwave for 30 seconds. Keep repeating until candy melts have fully melted.
Dip Rice Krispie Treat into melted candy melts. Submerge 2/3 of the way.
Place on a piece of wax paper & quickly add a heart sprinkle before candy hardens.
Let the Rice Krispie treats sit until candy has set.
Notes
Instead of cooking spray, you can use vegetable oil to help thin out the candy melts. Use about a teaspoon at a time and stir in well.
