Just like many of you, I love to start my day with a hot cup of coffee. It’s a part of my morning ritual that I couldn’t do without!
And while I love all varieties of coffee, there’s just something I love about a good flavored coffee.
So in this ultimate coffee post, we’re going to talk about all the different flavors of coffee out there, as well as various coffee syrups to pair with them.
We’ll discuss latte flavors, the differences between various coffee drinks, and even how to make your own coffee syrups.
Let’s get started…
What is Flavored Coffee?
First, let’s talk about what flavored coffee is and how it’s made.
Flavored coffee is made by infusing coffee beans with flavored oil.
These oils can be made naturally or artificially. Some flavored coffees will contain both natural and artificial flavors.
To make a particular coffee flavor, say, butterscotch or french vanilla, coffee beans are roasted and then cooled down.
A chemical (Propylene Glycol) is then added to the beans to help the beans absorb the flavoring. The beans are added to a large mixing container and mixed with the flavoring to create the desired flavored coffee.
Voila, flavored coffee!

Chocolate coffee tastes exactly like it sounds…like chocolate!
Chocolate coffee may have the word “chocolate” in the name, or it may have the word “mocha” in the name.
What is the difference between a mocha and a latte?
Both mochas and lattes contain milk, milk foam and espresso. Mochas have an additional ingredient–chocolate! This is often done with cocoa powder or hot chocolate.
Hazelnut Coffee
Hazelnut coffee has an earthy, nutty, hazelnut flavor.
It’s usually made by adding hazelnut extract or flavoring to coffee beans. Hazelnut coffee is one of the most popular coffee flavors!

Latte Flavors
What is a latte
A latte is a milk-based coffee that includes a light layer of foam, coffee and milk.
A true latte is made up of one or two shots of espresso, steamed milk and a thin layer of frothed milk on top.
There are many flavors of lattes out there but, in general, caramel and vanilla are usually two of the most popular.
You can also use various milks to create your latte. Cow’s milk, oat milk, soy milk and almond milk are a few typical ones.

There are many syrups out there to flavor your coffee.
