What is the difference between apple crisp and apple crumble?
Apple crisps and crumbles are similar, but have a key difference.
Like an apple crisp, an apple crumble is a fruit dessert, usually baked in the oven, with a layer of topping.
In an apple crumble, the topping is usually made with flour, sugar and butter. In a crisp, oats and/or nuts are most common for the topping.
What apple is best for apple crisp?
Crisp and firm varieties of apples, such as honeycrisp, fuji and granny smith, are all popular apples to use in apple crisps, crumbles and pies.

6. Serve warm with some vanilla bean iced cream or

Notes
Choose firm apples, such as Granny Smith or Pink Lady (pictured), for this recipe.
These varieties will hold up well to the heat of baking without turning to
mush.
