There are many things that come to mind when I think of getting my home ready for Fall, and when HomeAdvisor contacted me and asked me to use their site to complete one of these tasks, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy and effortless the process was. The basis of HomeAdvisor is this: you tell them about your project, they match you up with professionals who are available immediately to work with you, and the professionals then contact you to give you a quote and get started. There are also reviews on the site, which is helpful when choosing who to go with.
HomeAdvisor recommends that five tasks be done to prep your home for Fall:
Get Gutters and Downspouts Cleaned,
Have Weather Stripping Installed, and
For us, we decided that the most important task was to have our gutters and downspouts cleaned. We have a lot of trees surrounding our home, and we’ve had a lot of rain lately. The combination of the two equals gutters that need frequent attention. We visited HomeAdvisor’s Cost Guide, found the link on cleaning gutters and downspouts, where I easily found that the average cost was $158, and answered a couple of questions about our project. Within 24 hours, I had received quotes from three local companies (all below the average cost-yay!).
I was pleased with the professionalism of all three companies, and definitely had a difficult time choosing which company to go with. I also received several emails from HomeAdvisor throughout the process, making sure that I was satisfied with my experience.
In a couple of weeks, I will share the rest of my experience with HomeAdvisor, but I’d love to know-what do you do to get your home ready for the colder weather?
