Notice that I purposely didn’t call this a “Valentine’s Day garland”…to me, using circles instead of hearts makes this garland less holiday specific…change out the colors to suit your taste, and this can be used as party décor, part of your kid’s bedroom décor, or part of your “everyday” décor.
The how-to couldn’t be simpler if I tried. I used a 3/4″ hold punch, gold glitter cardstock, and some pink/red/orange paper that my 4 year old and I watercolored yesterday afternoon. If you follow me on Instagram, you got a sneak peek of the process:)
After your watercolors dry, take your punch and punch out some circles…
And then, and I don’t know why I forgot to take photos of this part, but if you can sew a straight line, you can easily do this, just stitch your circles together, varying your pattern. The one tip I have for you is to designate a needle for sewing through paper. Sewing through paper will dull your needle, so it’s best to have one set aside specifically for paper sewing.
And that’s it! This is easily a 30 Minute Craft, and so much fun, as well!
Happy Tuesday!
