{Hello, friends! Today, Becky from Houzz is guest posting on some fun and easy decor ideas using burlap! If you’re not familiar with Houzz, definitely check it out-I promise you’ll be hooked! }
Hello everyone! My name is Becky and I’m a contributor at Houzz, a home design site focused on helping design professionals and homeowners manage the remodeling and decorating process. Thanks so much to Linda for having me!
I love reading blogs full of clever DIY advice, but the truth is, I am the worst do-it-yourselfer on the planet. Thus, I tend to stick with the simplest of projects. Linda’s love of burlap inspired me to find some easy projects that are inexpensive to produce, easy to accomplish, and most importantly, pack a wonderful design punch. Here are three incredibly easy ways to give your home a textured burlap touch.
1. Give your pots fashionable outfits by wrapping them in burlap. If you don’t have a plant holder like the one in this photo, tie raffia in a natural shade or black to hold the burlap around the pots.
You can also give glass votives this same treatment, which will soften the glow and add texture to your tablescape.
2. Give your inspiration board fresh style by covering it with a repurposed coffee bag. Ask your local coffee shop if they can give you a bag, cut it, wrap it around a corkboard or canvas, pull it taut and use a staple gun to attach it to the wooden frame on the back. I promise this is easy, especially if you have someone there to help keep the burlap tight while you staple it.
3. Create curtains on a tight budget. I love the way Layla from The Lettered Cottage sticks with lots of neutral colors that let all her layers of texture stand out.
To create curtains like these, you don’t need to be a professional seamstress. You can simply treat the edges with iron-on hem tape, use clip on curtain rings and you’re done. That’s my kind of DIY project!

Hi Jillian, I'm so sorry I just found your comment! "Curtain Ring Clip" brings up a ton of options; I thought these were a pretty good match:
