Hello, readers! First, a confession: I am most definitely a candle person. When I saw the above candle at Target the other day, I just adored the fresh, Spring-y scent, but knew the pink color scheme would not match my living room decor (does this kind of thing bother anyone else)? I bought it anyway, and a few coats of Mod Podge later, I had an adorable candle that smelled great and matched my decor.
Materials:
mod podge
candle
glitter
scrapbook paper
foam brush
painters tape
Step 1: Cut a strip of scrapbook paper to fit around your candle. Wrapping paper would also work great for this! Apply a coat of Mod Podge to your candle, and wrap the paper around the candle, smoothing out any air bubbles as you go.
Step 2: Next, seal the paper with 2 or more coats of Mod Podge.
Step 3: To add some interest to the plain tin lid, take painters tape and tape off stripes on the top of the lid.
Step 4: Apply a coat of Mod Podge to the lid, add some glitter, and shake off the excess. Easy peasy.
And you’re done! I love how there are so many ways to customize this, and what a great gift idea, as well!
