If you saw my foyer makeover post, you may recall a watercolored polka dot canvas hanging over the bench. I liked it so much, I soon created a second for the kids’-room-to-be, this time using craft paint. Both were easy, fun, and inexpensive, here’s a quick how-to if you’d like to create some of your own!
Materials:
paint (either watercolors or craft paint)
foam brush (mine is from the Martha Stewart line at Michaels)
canvas
Once you’ve chosen your medium and colors, simply load your brush with paint, remove the excess and begin!
Here’s my kids’ room canvas after my first color….
After two colors…
…and completed…
The above was created with craft paint, and the foyer canvas, below, with watercolors….
I love both mediums, but for different reasons….I love the way the watercolors blend and mix and dance with each other, but I also love how bright and saturated the colors of the craft painted canvas looks.
Where would YOU put one of these fun, polka dotted canvases?
