It’s trendy, it’s cheap (often free), and adds instant character to your living space. Yep, I’m talking about reclaimed wood. Whether it’s old doors, flooring, fencing, or what have you, reclaimed wood decor is all the rage.
I’ll share some of my favorite ways to use reclaimed wood in home decor later this week, but today, I want to share our take on this latest trend…
Using reclaimed flooring from our local Habitat for Humanity ReStore, I was able to create a fun focal point that cost less than $10. I decorated it with a simple white felt wreath for now, but my head is already filling up with creative ways to dress it up.
The how-to was fairly easy (though a bit time-consuming). My husband and I cut, pieced, and glued the flooring segments together, sanded to remove the old finish down to the bare wood, and finished by staining and sealing the piece.
I love how the piece has “presence” and character, and I love the way it fills up the space between the bookcase and hutch…
check back later this week and I’ll tell you the story of the metal hang-y thing in the right side of the pics:)
Happy Monday!!

I really like the set of three clay hearts with the words joy, love, dream on them. So cute!
I have also taken a fancy to the Cupcake Stand / Dessert Pedestal-Grecian Charm. Totally fun, and the pattern could not be more perfect!

I think I have that exact same metal mobile! Mine has tons of rand-o thing hanging off it. I love ReStore, too, by the way!
