If there’s something to celebrate in our household, you can be sure we’ll try to work ice cream into the celebration. We all love it, and I’m always looking for creative ways to serve ice cream while utilizing creative and seasonal ingredients.
In honor of Breyers 150th birthday, celebrity chef Curtis Stone and his wife, actress Lindsay Price Stone, have created 12 recipes featuring Breyers Natural Vanilla, inspired by every month of the year, giving families a way to celebrate birthdays and special occasions all year long. This month, they’ve created a recipe inspired by one of my favorite seasonal ingredients–figs! The Spice Roasted Figs with Hazelnuts and Vanilla Ice Cream recipe is easy to follow and comes together quickly.
After gathering your ingredients, you’ll dip the figs in your sugar and spice mixture…
…broil for a few minutes, and serve!

Fun fact: Breyers Natural Vanilla is America’s No. 1 vanilla ice cream (I love the little vanilla specks in Natural Vanilla ice cream). Breyers only sources milk and cream from cows not treated with artificial growth hormones*, and all Breyers vanilla is real and from sustainably farmed, Rainforest Alliance Certified™ vanilla beans.
When all’s said and done, though, what really matters most is that my family loved this treat and I have another easy and delicious recipe to recreate when we have something to celebrate (and even when we don’t).
What is you and your family’s favorite way to celebrate special occasions? I’d love to hear!
*Suppliers of other ingredients such as cookies, candies & sauces may not be able to make this pledge. The FDA states that no significant difference has been shown between dairy derived from rBST-treated and non-rBST treated cows.

Those figs look dreamy on their own, on top of ice cream just sends it over the top!
