When it comes to our household’s use of filtered/bottled water, let me just say, we use a LOT. While we cook with tap water, we always drink and make beverages (iced tea, coffee, etc) with water that’s been filtered. Our primary source of filtered water is our refrigerator filter. You know the one-that teeny stream of water that takes 10 minutes to fill your Keurig reservoir or teapot?
The problem I’ve always had with faucet filters, is that they’re so obvious. Aesthetically speaking, they’re just not my thing. Enter the Pfister Clarify Faucet-a unique faucet with Xtract technology, which delivers filtered and tap water from the same faucet and twice as fast as typical water filtration products.
Just look at it, folks. Isn’t she lovely?
It seemed a bit too good to be true, so I pulled out a couple of trust water test kits, and performed a series of tests on our water, both before and after installing our new “shiny indoor water hose.”
Now, fortunately, our tap water fairly pure and safe on it’s own. After installing our new Pfister Clarify Faucet, though, the numbers got even better; copper and chlorine, especially, went down. Just as important, though, is the convenience our new faucet affords-Pfister claims their filtered water is twice as fast as traditional filters, but, compared to our refrigerator filter, we’re looking at ten times faster (at least). The filters last for 6 months, are recyclable, and are included with purchase.
And as a busy mom, having my appliances work for me, instead of the other way around, is a major plus.
The Pfister Clarify Faucet is sold exclusively at Home Depot. Head over to their site for more info, where to buy, and some fun videos/audio explaining some of the main features.

I have a bathroom with Pfister waiting for the plumber to set it in. Next, the kitchen needs one.
